What do competition organizers want exactly to be autonomous for this challenge? UAS to autonomously fly on an unknown area and conduct autonomous area exploration while searching for the dropped sensors? Real-time autonomous post processing of the data collected to extract critical information? Anything else?

We are attempting to focus our research on expanding the UAS technology, so autonomous flight might be an advantage. Flight will be timed, and contestants will need to collect as much as data as possible and deliver it with usability and clarity.
